A WIDE RIVER DIVIDES US

A poem film for Northern Irish poet, Gill Barr and her debut collection. It follows the poet from the east bank of the river Foyle to the west. She turns away to sweep through the streets of her seventies’ childhood during the Troubles, when a chance encounter unlocks memories of her Protestant working-class heritage and experience, causing her to reassess the complexity of loss, displacement and belonging.

The film is currently on its festival run and has been selected for the 13th Ó Bhéal International Film Festival in Cork, Ireland.
